Short end-of-year recap

I haven't found the time to write anything useful on the blog, because I've managed to be quite busy with actual orders. Which is good news, of course.

The activity of tricouriconstanta.ro was segmented in 2025 by frequent departures from home when there was effectively no one to work on orders, so we kept placing announcements of not taking orders (sometimes for weeks at a time).

The ads may have been omitted, maybe customers no longer have the time or interest to go to the website and get in touch directly via Whatsapp. I managed to find the courage in November to take advantage of a Black Friday offer and purchase new equipment at a reduced price. Namely a DTF printer with powder dosing system and oven.

I'll say from the start that this business was conceived with one idea in mind: to be a creative hobby that can occupy a few hours in the morning when you have nothing to do and the kids are off to school/kindergarten and no one feels like vacuuming the house.

In 2025 it remained at exactly this level, except that I managed to get many more orders than in 2024, which made me happy, because the money I spent supplied the workshop with enough raw materials to stay worry-free for a few months. Of course, there was no business plan, because I didn't know how seriously I would take this business with personalized t-shirts . In addition to that, I admit, I don't have the necessary education to draw up a business plan.

Back to the printer: I'm really excited! It's great! It makes all the work easier and I managed to enter the retail segment. People say retail segment and think that such a pompous term means retail giants like Mega Image, Auchan, Lidl etc. I think it means " customization per piece "

A service I turned down almost a hundred times in 2025. Well, look, in 2026 we're no longer turning down one-off orders, because... believe it or not, they bring in just as much money as serial orders for screen printing. At least that's how things feel, in a neighborhood custom t-shirt shop like mine.

I know that it's not a nice workshop for now, I don't have ideal hygiene conditions (read: "you can't eat off the floor"), I don't have a waiting area for clients, I don't mop the floor every day, I also keep the baby stroller in the workshop, etc. I'm not proud of that either, but sometimes I sit and think that it's exactly the aspect that keeps the prices low. If I had a rented space on the ground floor of a block of flats, all the prices would probably increase by 50%

Enough about money, let's talk about quality. There are a lot of printers available on amazon that promise DTF, but the problem with them is that they don't have an integrated oven. The powdering is done manually, the shaking of the DTF powder as well as the baking process in an oven that does its job or not as it should. The integrated solution came from xTool , so the whole process from when you press print, until the graphics are ready to be placed on the t-shirt and pressed is fast, efficient and without losses or errors in production. This means that you don't have to repeat a print, you don't get nervous and you don't waste time. Time is money, someone once said.

I was so busy that I didn't even have time to study the competition. Even now I have no idea how much a personalized T-shirt costs at the mall. I only know that for Black Friday and for December 6 - St. Nicholas Day I prepared many gifts for many people who have someone dear to them or want to do a promotion on a special occasion. I did it with pleasure, maybe not always perfectly, but always trying to give my best.

I had the great pleasure of doing screen printing for a company in Bucharest , the client presented himself with an already vectorized graphic (you cut 30% of the production time).

The award for the craziest customer goes to the lady who sent me a picture of a drawing in paint and asked me to put it on the back of some very expensive sweatshirts at the time. I thought for sure I wouldn't get any money for that order, but I still took the risk and did it.

The funniest t-shirt was probably for Secret Santa for some schoolmates who came together to pick it up and the person who ordered it gave it to them directly - a very "Caterinca" moment, as my generation would say.

The award for "hang up, I'll call you" goes to the Hell Air football team (probably a student team from what I think) for the kindness they showed by simply managing to pay for their order, after about 4-5 days of completing the order (I don't remember how long it took, but it seems like it was delivered on Thursday and the money from Revolut only arrived on Monday), so I'm no longer accepting payments from Revolt from now on.

I have the impression that I actually made t-shirts for the neighbors in the neighborhood, I don't know exactly how Google works, it was a bit crazy last year. In the summer it sent me customers mainly from Eforie Sud - so, be careful

I am! Then now in the winter, customers who literally walked from home to the workshop. Padel Club IDU noticed me too, I don't understand why, because we don't have much in common, maybe I make t-shirts for sports teams quickly and without problems at a fairly low cost. My wife made the t-shirt, I engraved some champagne bottles. Enjoy! Constanta needs more sport !
